This all-in-one digital plan set includes everything you need to build a complete dual drawer storage system for your 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner (2009–2024). Detailed cut lists, step-by-step assembly instructions, and printable templates — everything laid out so you can build a clean, functional setup made for storage, overlanding, and adventure.

Hardware and wood are not included. All hardware specifications are listed inside the plans. Looking for a precut or fully built system? Browse available kits here.

What's Included:

  • Dual Drawer Box Plans: Build the foundational drawer system with cut lists and step-by-step assembly instructions. Finished box measures approximately 41" wide (between wheel wells), 39" deep (back door to 2nd row seats), and 8.5" tall. Designed for two pairs of 36" drawer slides — locking or non-locking, both available in our store.
Note: Not compatible with factory 3rd row seating or sliding cargo tray unless removed. Plans for the 3rd row delete plate are included.
  • Bed Extension Plans: Extend your sleeping area by over 2 feet with a custom-fit bed extension that connects directly to the drawer system. Creates a nearly 6-foot flat surface when the 2nd row seats are folded down.
  • 2nd Row Seat Delete Guide: Exact dimensions and hardware list for a seat-delete bed extension configuration — a cleaner, more versatile setup for longer trips.
  • 3rd Row Delete Plate Guide: Dimensions and hardware list for anchoring the drawer system after removing the factory 3rd row or sliding cargo tray.
  • Side Cubby Templates: Add storage on both sides of the drawer box with printable full-size templates (6 pages, 8.5" × 11"). Trace and cut from 3/4" plywood. Includes two cubby templates per side (4 total) with instructions for hinged top and front access panels.
Fits SR5, TRD, and Limited trims.

Please Note:

  • This is a digital product. Plans are emailed as PDFs immediately after checkout.
  • Physical materials and drawer slides are not included unless you add the hardware option at checkout. Those ship separately shortly after purchase.

Thinking about skipping the build and going with the complete system?

Building from plans is a great project — but a lot of people get partway through the research and decide they'd rather just have the finished thing. Here's what you get with the complete SWW Storage System that the plans don't offer:

  • The full add-on ecosystem. False Tops, Drawer Dividers, Separators, and the Bed Extension are all designed to fit the complete system — sized and finished to match it exactly. None of these are compatible with the DIY plans. If you want any of those down the road, the complete system is where that option lives.
  • HexPly, straight out of the box. Every complete system is CNC-cut from HexPly — a furniture-grade panel material with a durable, water-resistant finish. It arrives looking finished. No staining, no sealing, no extra weekends.
  • Stop waiting, start using it. The complete system assembles in a couple of hours with basic tools, no shop required. Instead of adding another project to the list, you're on the road with a functional setup the same week it arrives.

FAQ

What's included in the plans?

You'll receive a detailed PDF package via email that includes dimensioned cut lists for every panel and component, step-by-step build instructions, a full hardware list with part numbers and quantities, printable routing and jig templates (print at 100% to use directly), and bed extension platform plans. The PDF is sent within one business day of purchase.

Are SWW add-ons compatible with a DIY build?

No. Our add-ons — false tops, drawer dividers, separators, and fridge slides — are designed and sized specifically for our complete, factory-built Storage Systems. Because DIY builds can vary slightly in dimension, the add-ons are not a guaranteed fit. If full add-on compatibility matters to you, our complete Storage System is the better route.

What tools and materials do I need?

Plans are designed for 3/4" Baltic birch plywood. You'll need a table saw or circular saw, a router with a straight-cutting bit for dado joints, a drill, clamps, and a tape measure. A full materials list with estimated quantities is included in the plans.

How long does the build take?

Most builders finish the complete system in one to two weekends — roughly 8 to 16 hours depending on woodworking experience and tool setup. First-time builders typically add a few extra hours for the learning curve.
